Andrew & John.
Being a wedding photographer in London means I get the chance to meet and photograph a variety of remarkable people. I find this incredibly exciting. So, when Matt and Dan contacted me I was thrilled. They find me on Google searching for gay friendly wedding photographer.
The first meeting with Matt and Dan was set up in a delicious French café near Victoria Station, on a chilly November evening. I was truly mesmorised by the calm and relaxed attitude that they both showed.
They spoke with excitement, and no stress, contentment, but no worries…
Now, how refreshing it is to have a stress free couple.
For the engagement shoot we created a Pinterest board, as we had to decide the where and when for the shoot.
We decided the location was going to be St Katharine Docks in London.
Matt is Australian and Dan is from the north of England. After meeting up, we wondered along the river deciding on where to stop. Despite the early start, many tourist were already wondering in the around.
The beginning of an engagement photoshoot is always a little nerve racking, and this is exactly why I decided that for me as a photographer is an important part of the wedding package.
It’s a fantastic way to get to know the couple before the big day. The location chosen by Matt and Dan, means a lot to them as one day they would like to buy an apartment here. They’ve spent many hours walking along the river, and therefore they know the area very well.
The charming wedding of Dan and Matt, a beautiful, sophisticated Christmas affair.
The event took place in the splendid Corinthia Hotel in central London, within walking distance from the major landmarks, overlooking the river Thames. This grand Victorian building is truly stunning and the staff are very helpful indeed.
On the day of the wedding the place with dimmed lights and candles everywhere looked just amazingly grand. Very cosy and definitely very friendly.
Having the ceremony and the afternoon tea party in the same location helped to create a very intimate atmosphere and nobody got wet. Yes, because outside it was pouring down.
Dan and Matt decided to wear matching blue shirts and beautiful navy Reiss suits. They added a touch of fun with the contrasting pink and purple ties.
The cufflinks represented their country of origin. Matt is Australian and Dan is English. They also had a perfectly matching gentleman's umbrellas.
The floral display which decorated the ceremony and reception room was bright and helped to create a happy mood. The rainbow Lego wedding cake was a very fun idea.
The hotel kindly upgraded Dan and Matt’s room to a staggering suite. Complete with a massive Christmas tree.
They had a magnificent time with a pampering, relaxing treatment the day before...

This is Dan & Matt's comment
"A photo shoot is a great way to feel at ease with the photographer and camera before your big day. Both of us felt self-conscious and nervous about having our picture taken. We found Paola’s guidance and approach a great way to help us get used to the lens!
We are really very pleased with the relaxed and atmospheric pictures that Paola has captured on our photo shoot – we think they are great!!"
