Kevin & Robert's Wedding
Like many quality Fife wedding venues, we have a dedicated team of wedding co-ordinators who will help you plan your big day. You might have a particular theme in mind; you might have some ideas that will give your wedding a really personal touch. Our team will organise every tiny, minute detail so that you can relax and enjoy yourself.
Licensed to hold civil weddings in Fife, we can offer religious, civil weddings and civil partnership ceremonies. We've held some beautiful, intimate services in our smaller rooms. Equally, many couples have chosen a grand and impressive occasion in one of our larger suites. (Our Elgin Suite for instance holds up to 300 guests.) In warmer weather, you can even hold your ceremony outside in our gorgeous secluded gardens. It's entirely up to you.

G Wedding Directory would like to thank Kevin & Robert for allowing us to publish their story.
Andrew & John.
Having been together for nearly 30 years and since the law had latterly been passed allowing same sex marriage, we had several times discussed this for ourselves with the usual debates about where/when and who to invite.
Where , even after looking at quite a few other venues we were always drawn back to the Keavil House Hotel after having attended a friend’s wedding there the year before and being very impressed with the friendliness and high standard of service .
We then arranged a meeting with Craig at the Keavil who ran through all the packages and dates available and we settled on the 12th of March in the following year. Craig was most emphatic that in the ongoing months prior, if we had any queries or issues etc. to ring or call in at any time giving us a second contact name if he happened to be unavailable or off duty.
Included in our eventual package were flowers, chair sashes, cake and evening disco. At the time of booking we also arranged for a prewedding dinner on Friday 11th for family and friends get together/ice breaker to be followed by a quiz. This worked out very well some people having travelled quite a distance – notably Roberts family from Suffolk and our oldest friend from Poole (83yrs). We were given the club room for the whole evening which was a comfortable space. An excellent meal was enjoyed by all and the quiz organised by our dear friends Mac and Sarah was a great success. A variety of truly awful prizes were duly awarded.
On the big day itself we (Kevin, Kevin’s sister Angela and Robert) managed to find time for a walk into the village for some fresh air.
The ceremony was conducted by the Fife registrar Mary O’Brien and amazingly, exactly on time – 2.30pm. Following the guests taking their seats (to Gloria Gaynor’s I am what I am) Robert accompanied by Lilly our ring bearer (Kevin’s great niece) walked down the aisle to Rod Stewarts “Sailing” in reference to his past in the merchant navy .Kevin then followed accompanied by his sister Angela and his brother Gary to Cat Stevens “Morning has broken” a favourite of Kevin’s late brother Christopher.
During the rather emotional ceremony (some people in tears) there was a reading by our dear friend Sarah, Kevin’s Brother Gary and finally Mary O’Brien added one herself.
Following the signing of the register and the usual host of photo calls we were shown in for the wedding breakfast and once again the Keavil produced an excellent, well served and hot meal.
For the evening reception the disco was well above par music (as requested) 80’s camp/cheesy disco that kept everyone on the dance floor all night.
From the photographs and DVD you will be able to see that this is indeed a beautiful setting for a wedding, what makes it outstanding is the dedication and friendliness of all the Keavil staff.
One last special mention – both Kevin’s parents are wheelchair users and they were particularly well catered for. Unfortunately Kevin’s mother very suddenly passed away during the process of this article but it is a great comfort that one of the family’s memories is looking back and seeing how happy she was on that day.
