with the permission of Mitch & James.

Hello, my name is Yvonne Dobbs and I am a professional Marriage and Family Celebrant, having trained with theUK College of Celebrancy in 2011, since when I have created and led many ceremonies in some of the most beautiful locations.  Being able to take part in your Wedding Day, Vow Renewal or Naming Day is a real privilege and a joy.  Working together,  I will write a ceremony created just for you and your partner.

Using my love of words, meanings and creativity and your style and ideas,  I can help you design and create a wonderful ceremony full of all those special moments you want to share, and include personal vows, poems, readings and music –  anything that holds a special meaning for you.

You can include anyone you wish within the ceremony, as the place, time and content are all up to you.  It’s often a great way to give other guests an opportunity to be involved in your special day and provide them with memories to cherish.

Every ceremony is tailored just for you,  making it truly unique – and we can incorporate all your ideas!  You can use virtually any venue you wish – my weddings have been held on heath and moor, by the sea and in public and private gardens.

Many thanks,

Andrew & John.

We met through mutual friends, running into each other through various events but never scratching past the surface. Saving Mitch from a dinner of hummus and carrots, James asked him out for a meal at the only Michelin Star pub in London one evening. From that moment we were inseparable, both having a couple of months off work during summer there was no reason not to. Marriage was far from Mitch’s mind and was completely unaware of what was in store for him. During a trip to Australia to meet the families, James’ long thought out plan came into fruition and after a succession of multiple cocktail, proposed at his favorite restaurant overlooking a beautiful sun setting on the beach. Mitch taken by surprise, of course said yes, quickly catching up to James’ drinks tally.

After a slight hiccup with a lost ring on the beach James and Mitch dived headfirst into planning with only 6 months to pull it all together. Finding a location was the first big step and we were so thrilled to secure Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park with its beautiful grounds and stunning views. Laura Russell and her team at Pembroke Lodge ensured our day went smoothly and without a hitch, handling last minute changes swiftly and making us feel as if we were the only people ever to be wed.

Numerous compliments throughout the day were given to our wonderful photographer Paul Grace who not only captured our day beautifully, but went above and beyond his job staying until he was sure he had the very best photos and was simply a wonderful man to have around. Mitch, James and the rest of the wedding party all had hair incredibly styled by a long time friend Jamie Stevens and his team at Jamie Stevens Hair.

A couple of months before the wedding James and Mitch went on the hunt for a celebrant, after exchanging emails and phone conversations with a couple of people we organizing meetings. We met Yvonne Dobbs at a cocktail bar in central London, which was a great start. We knew immediately Yvonne was the lady for the job, her exuberant personality coupled with her zest for life made our ceremony and our day feel complete. Yvonne was not only an amazing celebrant but felt like a lifelong friend mingling and celebrating with our guests throughout the afternoon.

We had a wonderful day with the sun shining down on us, the champagne following surrounded by family and friends from home and abroad. Although we never want to plan another wedding again, we will remember this day forever as the most amazing day of our lives thanks to the wonderful people involved.

James and Mitch headed off the Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy for the honeymoon, enjoying sun, olives and Piña colada all day long.
