G Wedding Directory would like to thank Marcus & Tim for allowing us to publish their story.

Many thanks,

Andrew & John.

Our wedding day was going to be a special and memorable one for all the right reasons. We started planning some sixteen months previously after Tim proposed to Marcus on Christmas morning of 2014.

It was so important that every part of our special day worked well, not just for us but for all our family and friends who were going to share it. From getting the right cake to selecting the correct wine and balancing formality with informality.

As with any very special occasion we wanted to get things right and having the most appropriate venue was one of the most important factors in bringing our day together. We chose The Orchid Hotel in Bournemouth, a boutique hotel with the highest of standards.  Christina Joannides, manager of The Orchid, runs a tight operation and has a fantastic team that supports every single element of delivery.

Every part of the day came together, from attending a floristry course to enable us to provide all the floral pieces to table names that had close association with Marcus’ family. We also incorporated shamrock imported from Ireland to include in buttonholes that provided the link to Ireland where Marcus’ family originated from. Each detail was so important to us as it would be to any couple celebrating their special day.

We chose to make a weekend of our celebration. This started with a traditional Afternoon Tea to welcome our guests and provide a comfortable ice-breaker for everyone to get to know each other.

The day itself went like a dream and one that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Even our registrar Helen managed to beautifully balance ceremony with informality and provide us with the best celebration we could imagine.

Our day went on to be blessed with sunshine, the great company of our friends and family, superb food and exemplary service along with a stunning cake and concluding with a wonderful evening celebration to compliment the day.

A wonderful experience from start to finish and the best thing of all we have fantastic memories to look back on.
