May 15th, 2013. The day we met, at an amateur theatre group where we spent three years getting to know each other and becoming best friends.
April 9th, 2016. The day we became a couple. We had one or two drinks, at a friends house party and ended up having our first official kiss.
We've never looked back.
We got engaged on the 3rd of March, 2017 in Edinburgh, and then engaged again in our hometown of South Shields, on the 3rd of March 2019!
We got married on the 21st of September 2021, at Newton Hall.
We searched for what felt like forever for suppliers who were fully accepting of a queer marriage and had previous experience of working with all types of couples. When we first discovered Newton Hall, in their gallery, they provided photos of queer couples as well as straight couples which instantly made us feel comfortable. The staff were so warm and welcoming and helped cater for everything we requested.
Newton Hall is also an extremely beautiful venue and we practically added no decoration to it, as it was whimsical and magical enough without anything extra.
One of the most important things we searched for were a photographer and videographer and genuinely couldn't be happier when we found David and Ryan. We would honestly recommend these two to anyone getting married, because of how highly talented they both are. The work they've created from our wedding is absolutely beautiful and they were the two nicest guys. They looked after us, snuck us away so we could have time for ourselves, made us and our guests laugh so much and made us all feel so confident and good about ourselves! They were such an important part of our day and we couldn't be more grateful.
A special mention to some of our other suppliers who just didn't bat an eyelid and just saw two people in love who were getting married.
Lisa Jones for doing our hair and makeup, as well as six of our wedding party, Wardrobe by Dulcinea, who supported Georgie's creativity and provided her with the most magical and celestial wedding dress, Corsetry & Couture who altered all of our bridesmaid dresses and flower girl suit and Digi Hippy Media who provided all of our gorgeous wedding signage!
Our day was truly magical and having a whole team of people who supported our marriage and our love story was truly wonderful. We both felt so unbelievably lucky and wish we could relive the whole day again!!
