G Wedding Directory would like to thank Samantha & Rachael for allowing us to publish their story.

Many thanks,

Andrew & John.

We both like a drink and went out mid week with our friends after work. We met in a classy establishment, called; Candy Bar in Soho, London. Sadly the bar has since closed down but we have now been together for 4 years.

Once we found Heaton House Farm, everything clicked into place. Rachael found the venue online. She was looking through a list of venues in the North West. She knew straight away that Heaton House Farm was for us. So we booked a visit, expecting there to be some downside. But it blew us away, we both had butterflies as we walked in the venue. We smiled and beamingly looked at each other. We knew we'd found our venue. It was the first place we'd been to see, but that was enough, so we booked it.

We enjoyed planning the wedding together and talking through our ideas. It felt more equal, when we speak to straight couples, it's usually left to the bride to organise. But not in our case.

As our special day was in mid December, the season dictated our style. We went for a silver and dark blue theme. Heaton House Farm already had a huge real Christmas tree from their Christmas Shop so we just went with that.

The ceremony meant the world to us. We'd put a lot into it, even writing personalised promises. It meant so much to have everyone we love witness us making this commitment to each other. The whole day was perfect though. The wedding breakfast was great. Sam made a fantastic speech and the food from Vanilla in All seasons was top restaurant quality. At last orders our entire wedding party stampeded to the bar, the staff just laughed and promptly started serving without any complaint.

After the wedding we had a mini moon in Grasmere in The Lake District at a Spa Hotel.  Then extended it to Keswick for Christmas! We're looking to book somewhere exotic in the next few months to continue the celebration.
